The annual SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada needs no introduction. This time we have a total of 1,540 images shot by two contributors. Be sure to check out our SEMA 2018 Sights & Sounds video and then see all… Continue reading
This was my first visit to a Mecum auction. A friend had his ’29 Model-A in a Saturday lot and offered me a guest pass. One fact I knew from watching Mecum auctions on TV, unlike Barrett-Jackson, most of Mecum’s lots have a reserve price.
Something… Continue reading
It’s possibly the greatest auto-related trade show on earth and the 2017 SEMA show confirmed that reputation during the first week on November. In addition to the latest products and accessories, SEMA is also now known as the place where… Continue reading
Valerie and Marcel Martel, owners of Top Notch Repairs in Pahrump, Nevada, love cars, trucks, and big rigs. The proof of this was clearly visible on a perfect October Saturday with beautifully detailed examples from Marcel’s personal collection of muscle… Continue reading
I spent a couple days at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas checking out the latest trends and unusual creations.

My long-time good buddy and Uber-Gearhead on the east coast shot a few pix at this year’s Dead Man’s Curve show in Mahwah, New Jersey, and was happy to share them on autophocus.com. Some really interesting machines featured… Continue reading
One of the greatest automotive extravaganzas takes place annually in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 2014 rendition of the SEMA Show was just as outrageous as ever. Bolt-on fender extensions seem to be quite popular on all kinds of… Continue reading
Here are a few of the “new and unusual faces” that showed up for the Memorial Day weekend 2014 Valley Cruisers Show. This event had a nice variety of traditional street rods, customs, antiques, sports and muscle cars, and more than a sprinkling of rat rods of various sizes. My personal favorite was Continue reading
For the last couple of years I’ve consider skipping the SEMA Show, thinking there’s nothing really new out there, and I couldn’t afford to take the time away from work. But when I think about what will be taking place so close to where I live, I just can’t resist being immersed in the wide variety of over-the-top customs, personalized exotics, and the country’s finest pro-touring corner-carvers, not to mention seeing what’s new in the industry and keeping an eye out for new business opportunities. As usual, the 2013 SEMA Show was simply mesmerizing! Continue reading
Billed as the largest indoor car show in Las Vegas, the Imperial Palace Car Show at The Quad Hotel Casino is also unique because nearly every vehicle is for sale. A good portion of the cars on display were… Continue reading
By coincidence, I was in Las Vegas meeting up with a good friend (and street rod builder) from New Jersey. And even though this show was just a free add-on attraction at the Las Vegas Boy Scouts annual Mega… Continue reading
What happened? Did people forget to mark their calendars for this event? Whatever, there were several new-to-Pahrump entrants that featured creative ideas, outstanding workmanship and/or uncommon vehicle makes, like the ’37 Terraplane and a swarm of Mitsubishi… Continue reading
Finally they are posted! Long over-due, but I think you will agree they were worth the wait. My 2012 SEMA Show coverage is comprised of 6 pages with a total of around 800 images. Yes, you will… Continue reading
This was a nice parking lot show with decent turnout and a number of new (to me) entries.
I was a little disappointed with this Super Run show. The last time I attended this show I was really impressed so I had high expectations. The other part of “my disappointment” was with the heat. It… Continue reading
This was my first time attending a Barrett-Jackson auction, and I had a nice time at the Mandalay Bay convention center. Of course it would have been a lot more exciting if I was bidding on some of the beautiful… Continue reading
With the sun’s strong rays being masked by even stronger breezes, May 5th was another beautiful day in southern Nevada. Perfect for Sugar’s / Flying Eagle in Pahrump to host a Show & Shine. It’s always exciting to… Continue reading
On a bright and sunny Saturday in Pahrump, a strong turn-out of show entries filled the grass field at Petrack Park. Along with the Valley Cruiser regulars, quite a few interesting entries from Las Vegas and other surrounding areas… Continue reading
The big after-market trade show came back and the number of vendors and attendees was definitely up from last year. In fact, the big crowds made it a real challenge to get good photos of the amazing vehicles on display, but somehow I managed. I have posted over 450 images, divided into 4 groups. Grab a coffee or a beer, and take a look.
