One of the greatest automotive aftermarket trade shows on earth returned to Las Vegas, Nevada. I believe this is the 49th annual SEMA Show and it has taken place in Las Vegas since 1977. This show covers quite a few acres of indoor and outdoor space and unless you spend all 4 days covering the convention center, it really is difficult to see everything on display, plus have time to talk to some of the vendors and attend a few seminars. I’ve been attending the show every year since 2004 and every year the show gets larger. It’s important to study the floor-plan and be aware of all the places where interesting products and vehicles are on display as it’s easy to miss something cool.
And I need to say something about huge number of modified trucks on display. I guess I never realized just how big the markets are for all kinds of mild-to-wild truck accessories. Judging from the dozens of wild and crazy custom trucks on display in front of the convention center, someone attending the SEMA show for the first time might think it is primarily a truck accessories show. But the SEMA show is a great trade show for all flavors of automotive business people and enthusiasts who are able to attend.
